About the role
At Gravity Labs, we help growing businesses move from fragmented systems, processes and data toward more connected, measurable and scalable ways of working.
We are building an AI-powered business solutions platform designed to help companies drastically scale their capacity and optimize their operations. Our starting point is not a theoretical product roadmap. It is the daily reality of our first pilot customer.
Your mission is to embed with that customer, audit their daily workflows, and build rapid automations that eliminate manual bottlenecks. You will act as a product manager, researcher and developer all at once: observe the work, understand the problem, choose an approach, build the solution and see whether it genuinely helps.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership role at the intersection of business operations, software engineering and applied AI. You will need to move quickly without losing the judgment to distinguish a useful prototype from a reliable, repeatable product capability.
What you will be responsible for
- Shadow our pilot user and map time-consuming operational workflows, document processing, system reporting, repeated decisions and manual handoffs.
- Identify the highest-impact bottlenecks, understand their root causes and prioritize solutions by practical value, feasibility and likelihood of adoption.
- Turn loosely defined user needs into small, testable product requirements, then independently decide how to execute them technically.
- Build rapid prototypes and working automations using Python, LLM APIs, automation tools and lightweight user interfaces.
- Connect APIs, business applications, data sources and documents to make information move reliably between existing systems.
- Handle messy real-world inputs, including document extraction, parsing, validation and exceptions, rather than designing only for ideal cases.
- Test solutions with the people who will actually use them, measure time saved and other relevant operational improvements, and iterate on daily feedback.
- Introduce sensible safeguards for accuracy, sensitive data, access permissions, failure recovery and human review where the workflow requires them.
- Keep code clean, understandable and modular enough that the most successful automations can later be bundled into a scalable software product.
- Document important workflows, decisions and technical trade-offs so valuable learning is not locked inside one person or one customer implementation.
Your responsibility is not simply to deliver automations. It is to discover what creates genuine business value, get it working in the real world and help us understand what deserves to become part of the product.
What this role looks like in practice
On a normal week, you may be:
Your value is measured by the operational friction you remove, the reliability and adoption of what you ship, and the product insight you generate—not by the number of demos or lines of code you produce.
You will work closely with
- The pilot customer and the people doing the day-to-day operational work.
- Gravity Labs colleagues across software, business applications, integrations, data and automation, as relevant to the solution.
- Company leadership on priorities, lessons from the pilot and the emerging product direction.
The role requires real customer proximity. The exact balance of on-site and hybrid work will be shaped by the needs of the pilot.
What we are looking for
You are a capable software builder, but writing code alone is not enough. You are curious about how businesses actually operate and you want to see your work used.
You naturally ask:
- What is the user really trying to accomplish?
- Why does this workflow exist, and where does time or accuracy get lost?
- Does this problem need AI, a simple integration, a better process—or no new software at all?
- What is the smallest useful version we can put in someone’s hands?
- How will we know the solution made a meaningful difference?
- What could fail, and when should a human stay in control?
- Which parts of this solution are specific to one customer, and which could become reusable product capabilities?
You are likely to be a strong fit if you:
- Are resourceful, proactive and take full ownership rather than waiting for detailed instructions or technical hand-holding.
- Have proven that you can build software, integrate systems and ship working products independently.
- Prefer moving fast and getting things done over endless corporate planning meetings.
- Can translate product requirements into technical execution and make sensible choices under uncertainty.
- Use AI tools to accelerate your own engineering work, while reviewing and taking responsibility for the result.
- Are comfortable talking directly with users, observing unfamiliar workflows and challenging assumptions.
- Care more about solving the user’s problem than adopting the trendiest technology stack.
- Can explain technical trade-offs clearly to non-technical people.
- Know when a quick prototype is enough and when testing, maintainability or safeguards need more attention.
What you should already have
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related technical field.
- Approximately 3–5 years of relevant professional experience building software, integrating systems and independently shipping products.
- Strong practical Python skills (mandatory).
- Deep hands-on experience with LLM APIs, including providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic, and an understanding of how to integrate them into working applications.
- Practical experience with agentic coding environments such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot.
- Experience building quick, usable interfaces with tools such as Streamlit, Gradio or Retool.
- Experience automating workflows with platforms such as Make, Zapier or n8n, together with custom REST API integrations.
- Experience with OCR and document processing tools such as Tesseract or Google Document AI, and data parsing/processing with libraries such as Pandas.
- The ability to work independently with APIs, authentication, structured data, error handling and basic software testing.
- Fluent Greek and English for direct customer interaction, collaboration and technical documentation.
- Availability to work in Thessaloniki, Greece, on-site or in a hybrid arrangement involving the pilot customer.
The tools above describe the practical territory of the role; we do not expect experience with every named vendor or framework. What matters is that you have hands-on depth in the underlying work and can learn the right tool quickly.
Extra value if you also have experience in
- JavaScript or TypeScript (strong plus).
- Financial software, accounting tools or bookkeeping workflows (preferred, not mandatory).
- ERP, CRM or other operational business systems and their integrations.
- SQL, relational databases, background jobs or lightweight cloud deployments.
- LLM evaluation, structured outputs, retrieval, tool calling or agent workflows used in actual products.
- Designing for observability, permissions, auditability and safe handling of sensitive business data.
- Turning bespoke automations into reusable software components or product features.
What this role is not
This is not a pure research role where ideas stop at experimentation.
It is not a prompt-engineering position focused on generating impressive demos.
It is not a traditional product-management role where you write specifications and hand implementation to someone else.
And it is not a narrowly scoped developer role where every requirement arrives pre-defined.
You will be expected to observe, question, decide, build, integrate, measure and improve.
Your first months
You will initially focus on the pilot customer, learn the actual operating environment and establish a fast feedback loop between real users and working software.
Map the most important workflows, understand the systems and inputs behind them, and establish a clear, evidence-based view of the largest bottlenecks.
Independently ship useful end-to-end automations, validate them with the pilot user, and demonstrate improvements through time saved, quality, reliability or another relevant operational measure.
Identify patterns worth generalizing, improve the structure and maintainability of successful solutions, and help shape the next product priorities based on what the pilot has actually proved.
What we offer
- A rare opportunity to build an AI-powered business solutions platform from its first real-world customer use cases.
- High ownership across discovery, technical delivery, feedback and early product development.
- Direct access to users and rapid feedback on the impact of what you build.
- The freedom to use pragmatic tools, modern AI engineering workflows and first-principles problem-solving.
- Collaboration with people working across business applications, integrations, data and technology.
- The opportunity to grow with the product and take on broader technical or product ownership as it develops.
- Competitive compensation aligned with experience, responsibility and impact.
- A Thessaloniki-based working environment, with on-site or hybrid arrangements shaped by the pilot customer’s operational needs.
